Cobams is a historic Italian brand in the production of incubators, neonatal islands and phototherapy lamps.
Their flagship product ‘Cristina’ needed a stylistic and technical update to comply with current regulations in the medical sector, so they commissioned our design studio to design the new incubator.
For Eros Angelini’s Industrial Design team, working on a project of this type was stimulating, exciting and at the same time complicated, as the company did not produce a large number of pieces, so they had to study the application of technical and molding solutions suited to the project/budget, for example the use of Baydur 60 and 110 polyurethane and thermoformed components.
Once the first style concepts and ergonomic solutions were realized, under the guidance of Mr. Maranesi Ceo of Cobams, we started designing component after component, designing with CREO PTC parametric CAD software and tested all components with rapid prototyping systems; we also followed all industrialisation phases to optimize assembly times.
